API Terms

Last updated on: 01/07/2026

These API Terms are incorporated by reference into the Skynet Terms of Service and apply to all access and use of any Skynet API, API documentation, and any accompanying code or technical documentation.

1. Definitions

  • “API” means the Skynet Application Programming Interface and any accompanying documentation, sample code, software, or other materials provided by Skynet.
  • “API Credentials” means the security credentials (such as API keys, secrets, or tokens) issued to you by Skynet to enable authorized access to the API.
  • “API User” means any Merchant, developer, or third party authorized by Skynet to access and use the API under these Terms.

2. API License and Restrictions

2.1 Limited License

Subject to these API Terms, Skynet grants the API User a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to access and use the API solely to develop and integrate applications or services that enhance or interact with the Skynet Services for the benefit of Skynet Merchants.

2.2 Security and Credentials

The API User is solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of its API Credentials. The API User shall not share its API Credentials with any third party, and Skynet is not responsible for any damage or loss caused by unauthorized access or use of the API Credentials.

2.3 Prohibited Use

The API User shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:

  • Reverse Engineer: Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the API or its underlying source code.
  • Unauthorized Access: Use the API to access or attempt to access any data, functionality, or services not explicitly authorized in the documentation.
  • Circumvention: Work around, bypass, or circumvent any technical limitations, security measures, or rate limits imposed by Skynet.
  • Malicious Use: Use the API for any purpose that promotes illegal activity, infringes on third-party rights, violates the Skynet Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), or harms Skynet’s reputation.

3. Data Handling and Privacy

3.1 Data Use Limitation

Any data retrieved from the API regarding Skynet Merchants or their customers (“API Data“) must be used strictly for the purpose of operating the integrated application or service. The API User shall not sell, lease, or otherwise monetize the API Data.

3.2 Data Security

The API User must implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the API Data against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, at a level no less stringent than the measures required by Skynet for its own data security.

3.3 Privacy Compliance

The API User must comply with all applicable privacy and data protection laws regarding the collection, storage, and use of API Data, including obtaining all necessary consents from individuals before processing their data.

4. Rate Limits and Changes

4.1 Rate Limiting

Skynet may establish and enforce limits on the frequency, volume, and type of API calls (“Rate Limits“) at any time, in its sole discretion, to prevent abuse or degradation of the Services. Violation of Rate Limits may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of API access.

4.2 Modification and Suspension

Skynet reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the API, or any features thereof, with or without notice to the API User. Skynet shall not be liable to the API User or any third party for any loss or damage resulting from such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.

5. Termination

Skynet may immediately terminate the API User’s license and access to the API if the API User breaches any provision of these API Terms or the main Terms of Service. Upon termination, the API User must immediately cease all use of the API and destroy any API Data and API Credentials in its possession or control.
